This zine is a personal exploration of language, linguistics, history, and symbolism, based on my own experiences of cultural loss when I was a 9 years old child. It documents my feelings of non-belonging in my home country, as well as my experiences of working and living in Shanghai and Tokyo, and later coming to England to study and work for 10 years.

The year 2023 holds a particular significance for me, as I have now lived abroad for almost as long as I lived in China. Through this zine, I aim to convey the feeling of being in a trance, having lost my sense of belonging, and questioning my identity.
